Bridgerton star Claudia Jessie has ventured beyond the ton, making a festive debut in Ed Sheeran’s new music video for his holiday single, “Under the Tree.”
The video, released on Nov. 26, showcases Jessie as Sheeran’s ex-girlfriend, stirring up nostalgia and warmth in a story of lost love rekindled.
Set against a holiday backdrop, the video follows Ed’s character as he reminisces about moments with Jessie’s character—sharing cocoa by the fire, shopping for gifts, and decorating a Christmas tree.
In a touching finale, the former flames reunite, bringing the emotional journey full circle.
The song coincides with the upcoming animated Netflix film, That Christmas, directed by Richard Curtis. Though the collaboration was kept under wraps until the video’s release, Sheeran teased their team-up earlier.
In a TikTok posted on Nov. 25, Jessie—sporting her cozy turtleneck from the video—lip-synced to a Bridgerton voiceover while Sheeran, dressed casually, bounced on a trampoline in the background.
The caption read, “Hands up who watches Bridgerton.”
Beyond Jessie’s involvement, “Under the Tree” holds personal significance for Sheeran.
As a father to two young daughters, Lyra, 4, and Jupiter, 2, Sheeran shared his excitement about creating a song they can enjoy during the holiday season.
“Having kids, I struggle to find great movies for very young kids to watch at Christmas,” the singer explained to Digital Spy. “This ticks all the boxes.”
He added, “The movie is called That Christmas and it’s out December 4 on Netflix. My family and I love it. Yours will too.”
With its heartfelt message and Jessie’s captivating presence, “Under the Tree” is sure to become a holiday favorite for fans of both Sheeran and Bridgerton.
