Jenna Bush Hager has revealed an unexpected nickname her children have given her — and she is not entirely thrilled about it.
During Wednesday’s episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, the television host shared a funny but slightly embarrassing parenting moment involving her three children, who have apparently started calling her “Biggie” at home.
Hager, 44, said the nickname originated with her kids — daughters Mila, 13, and Poppy, 10, as well as her six-year-old son, Hal — but admitted she wishes the trend had never made it through the front door.
“They call me Biggie,” Hager told co-host Sheinelle Jones during the segment.
“They’re like, ‘OK, Biggie!’ And I’m like, ‘Excuse me?’ They’re like, ‘Whatever, Biggie!’” she added.

The playful family nickname, however, quickly became a concern for Hager after the children also started calling their father by the same name.
The Sisters First author, who shares her children with husband Henry Chase Hager, joked that she had already warned their eldest daughter, Mila, about the potential consequences.
“I’m like, ‘Mila, stop saying this. Hal’s gonna go to school and his teacher’s gonna be like, ‘Now, Hal, please turn in your homework.’ And he’s gonna be like, ‘No way, Biggie!’” Hager said.
Jones appeared genuinely shocked by the unusual nickname, admitting she had never heard the term before.
“I’ve never heard that. That hurts my feelings,” Jones said.
Where Did “Biggie” Come From?
According to Hager, the nickname actually evolved from another slang term — “Big Back” — which made the situation even more awkward.

“She has simplified it just to Biggie,” Hager explained of her daughter’s word choice.
“Part of me at first found it to be … I like humor in words, so I was like, ‘Oh, that’s creative,’” she added.
Still, the Today host made it clear that she hopes the nickname does not spread beyond her household.
“But I’m like, ‘Stop calling everybody Biggie. It’s gonna spread,’” Jenna joked.
After learning the nickname’s origin, Jones admitted the explanation only made things worse.
“That makes it even worse,” Jones said.
Jenna’s Parenting Moments Often Make Headlines
This is not the first time Hager has shared a humorous parenting story on-air.
Last month, the TV personality revealed that her oldest daughter, Mila, temporarily banned her from attending volleyball games after what Jenna described as one too many enthusiastic sideline moments.
“I got kicked out by my child,” Hager joked at the time.
Clarifying the situation, she added: “Well, I didn’t get kicked out, like, removed immediately. I got put into a free zone.”
