The body of a Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) student was found hanging in his house in Mwiki, Kasarani, Nairobi, in a suspected suicide.
The deceased, Cliff Asmund Oroko, 22, was a third-year student pursuing a degree in Financial Engineering.
His body was discovered on January 20, 2026, hanging on a wall bordering a local chief’s camp.
Police said a note was found in his pocket explaining his wishes after death, though other details were not disclosed.
Oroko lived alone in the house, and his family has been informed of the tragedy.
The body was taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Police also confirmed that the incident is part of a concerning trend, with up to five suicide cases reported in Nairobi on the same day, all of which are currently under investigation.
