Teyana Taylor and actor Aaron Pierre have gone their separate ways after less than a year of dating, sources have confirmed. The split follows weeks of online speculation suggesting the high-profile couple had quietly ended their relationship.
While the exact reason for the breakup remains unclear, sources say the two have amicably moved on.
A High-Profile Romance
Taylor, 35, and Pierre first sparked dating rumors earlier this year after attending the Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala in Los Angeles in February. Their relationship soon became public, with the pair spotted together at the Vanity Fair Oscars party and later sharing a steamy moment in the trailer for Taylor’s 2025 album, Escape Room.
By June, the couple had made their romance Instagram official when Taylor posted a heartfelt tribute to Pierre in celebration of his 31st birthday, followed by photos from his birthday party. They later attended the BET Awards together, cementing their status as one of Hollywood’s rising couples.
Speaking to Complex at the time, Taylor described Pierre as “very gentle,” adding, “It allows me to feel warm and to feel safe and not be in survival mode.”
Creative and Public Support
Pierre, who starred in Mufasa: The Lion King, was a visible supporter of Taylor’s music career. He appeared in panel discussions for her album launch and praised her publicly, saying, “Teyana is really one of one.” The pair even coordinated matching outfits during promotional appearances. Taylor went on to earn a Grammy nomination for Escape Room.
Despite their split, the couple was last seen together on the red carpet at the London premiere of Taylor’s latest film, One Battle After Another.
Moving Forward
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in early November, Taylor referred to Pierre affectionately as “my apple pie,” saying they were each other’s “safe space,” while also noting that she was cautious about labels.
The breakup comes at a pivotal moment in Taylor’s career. She is currently nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for One Battle After Another and is generating early Oscar buzz. Her upcoming projects include Ryan Murphy’s All’s Fair, which also stars Kim Kardashian.
Pierre, meanwhile, has major projects on the horizon, including Star Wars: Starfighter alongside Ryan Gosling and the upcoming DC Studios and HBO series Lanterns.
