Paris Jackson, daughter of the late pop icon Michael Jackson, has shared a striking reminder of her past struggles with substance use — a perforated septum, or hole in the cartilage between her nostrils.
In a TikTok clip posted on Monday, Nov 10, the 27-year-old star admitted that she had “never actually addressed this,” before moving on to show off her “perforated septum” by shining the light of her cell phone up her nose.
“I have a really loud whistle when I breathe through my nose,” the actress and model shared. “And that is because I have what is called a perforated septum,” she explained, showing the small hole in her septum and adding that it was “slightly different from a deviated septum.”
“That is from what you think it’s from,” Jackson noted, adding, “Don’t do drugs, kids,” while pointing down the lens.
Turning serious for a moment, the make-up-free star said she “didn’t recommend” taking drugs, adding that it had “ruined my life.”
Turning her attention back to her nose, Jackson said she didn’t want to get plastic surgery to fix it as she was six years sober and “you have to take pills when you have a surgery that gnarly.”
She went on to note that she’d been living with the issue since the age of 20, adding that it was a “bitch” when she was in the studio. Jackson also quipped that she could thread a spaghetti noodle through the hole in her septum.

She added that the hole is so large she can reportedly thread a spaghetti noodle from one nostril to the other.
Paris said she has no plans to have surgery to fix it, explaining that the procedure would require pain medication, and she doesn’t want to risk relapse.
The model and actress has been open about her journey to sobriety. In January, she revealed on Instagram that she had been sober for five years, marking a major milestone in her recovery.
