Ed Kelce, father of NFL player Travis Kelce, has shared his philosophy on gift-giving for Taylor Swift, who celebrated her 35th birthday on Friday.
He explained that spending $10 on a meaningful gift is more impactful than splurging on something extravagant.
“You’re not going to impress Taylor Swift with a $100,000 gift,” he remarked on the Baskin and Phelps podcast.
Instead, he suggested finding something small yet sentimental that “tweaks the strings of her heart.”
Emphasizing that the monetary value of a gift is irrelevant, Ed compared buying for Swift to buying for his sons, Travis and Jason, the latter a retired Philadelphia Eagles player.
“There’s nothing they want that they don’t already have,” he noted, advising a more personal approach to gift selection.
Swift recently concluded her record-breaking Eras world tour, which spanned 21 months, featured 152 performances, and generated over $2 billion in ticket sales.
She described the tour as “the most extraordinary chapter of my life so far.”
At her final concert in Vancouver, fans serenaded her with “Happy Birthday,” a touching moment marking the end of her historic journey.
The pop star’s birthday also coincided with a milestone achievement at the Billboard Music Awards, where she claimed 10 prizes, including top artist and top Billboard 200 album for The Tortured Poets Department.
With this win, Swift’s total Billboard Awards reached 49, surpassing Drake’s 41.
Expressing gratitude in a pre-recorded acceptance speech, she credited her fans for their unwavering support, calling them the driving force behind her success.
“This is like the nicest early birthday present you could have given me,” Swift said.
“It means the world to me that you’ve embraced the things I’ve made and cared so much about my music.”
Other winners at the ceremony included British stars Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and Charli XCX, with the latter earning accolades for top dance/electronic artist and album for Brat.
