Influencer Hannah Hiatt Addresses Parenting Struggles Amid Child Welfare Investigation

Parenting influencer Hannah Hiatt recently opened up about the challenges of motherhood, acknowledging the difficulties of caring for her two young children—2-year-old James and a 2-month-old baby—while her husband was away for jury duty.

This candid reflection came just weeks before police launched an investigation into allegations of child mistreatment against her.

“Being a solo parent just for a day or a few days…it’s fricken hard,” Hannah admitted in a Nov. 21 TikTok video. She described how she usually relies on her husband for breaks but struggled when left alone with the kids.

“There are so many times in the day where I just shove my kids to my husband and say, ‘You deal with them, I’m going upstairs,’” she shared.

“But when you’re a solo parent…it is you all day, every day, all night.”

Acknowledging the immense responsibility single parents face, Hannah expressed gratitude that her solo parenting experience was temporary.

“I seriously can’t imagine being a single parent,” she said, offering support to those raising children alone.

However, her parenting style came under public scrutiny after a since-deleted TikTok video showed James sitting in a grocery cart, raising his hands to his face when his dad approached.

Some viewers interpreted the toddler’s reaction as fear, accusing the couple of mistreatment.

In response, Hannah denied the allegations, insisting that her children are well cared for. “They’re healthy, well-nourished…running around playing,” she said in a Nov. 30 TikTok video.

“That should be a pretty good indicator that everything’s just fine.”

She also defended her husband, describing him as “the sweetest, nicest, kindest, most-loving, most-nurturing father in the entire world.”

She emphasized their close father-son bond, adding, “He’s on the ground playing with James like 90 percent of the day.”

Despite the public backlash, police confirmed they had opened an investigation after receiving “numerous reports through Child Protective Services and police.” The outcome of the investigation remains unknown.
