Jelly Roll Celebrates Health Transformation And Billboard Music Award Win

Jelly Roll is proudly showcasing the results of his health journey.

The country music star has been open about his commitment to losing weight and embracing a healthier lifestyle, and recently, he shared just how much progress he’s made.

On Dec. 12, the 40-year-old took the stage at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards, performing his hit single “Liar.” For the performance, Jelly Roll—whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord—wore a yellow jacket, a backwards cap, and dark pants.

Along with his performance, he had even more to celebrate, as he won his first-ever Billboard Music Award for Top Hard Rock Song for his single “All My Life” with Falling in Reverse.

Jelly Roll has been vocal about his health transformation since February 2023, when he revealed he was prioritizing his well-being after years of fluctuating weight.

“I’m working out daily… praying and meditating… Eating better – losing weight,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

“Making sure I bring the best version of me on my new album and this tour… this is what growth and gratitude look like in real time.”

Over the past year, the “Lonely Road” singer—who has also shared his sobriety journey—has kept fans updated with his workouts and the encouragement he’s received from his wife, Bunny Xo.

Jelly Roll proudly displayed his weight loss, having shed over 100 pounds, at the 2024 Academy of Country Music Awards in May.

In November, he showed off his smaller physique again at the 2024 CMA Awards.

Reflecting on his progress at the end of 2024, Jelly Roll expressed his satisfaction with his journey.

“I just want to feel good. I want to feel normal,” he shared with Entertainment Tonight.

“I’ve been morbidly obese my entire life. I wanna feel normal, that’s just something I want to do. I’m pretty committed to it.”

Jelly Roll also emphasized his openness about his transformation, saying he wanted to inspire others by being honest and transparent.

“I’m not hiding it. I didn’t go try to do it in the dark, I’m just doing it right here in front of everybody,” he explained. “I want to continue to show what God can do if you allow him to work.”
