Tom Brady recently shared a powerful message seemingly aimed at those who scrutinize his personal life.
Just a week after news surfaced that his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen is expecting her first child with boyfriend Joaquim Valente, Brady posted a quote to his Instagram Story that celebrated the resilience of those who put themselves “in the arena.”
The message he shared read, “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles… The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood.”
Brady’s post reminded followers that real success comes from striving despite the possibility of failure, a sentiment that echoes his career and personal challenges.
Though Brady, 47, didn’t specify the message’s target, it follows his recent reflective posts since the pregnancy news broke.
On Oct. 29, he posted a sunset photo with the lyrics of The Chicks’ cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide—a song about change and introspection—scrolling across the screen: “Can the child within my heart rise above? / Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?”
Since retiring, Brady has often spoken about prioritizing time with his kids, Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, whom he shares with Gisele, and Jack, 17, his son with ex Bridget Moynahan.
In a recent interview, he described spending time with them as “the best part of every day,” embracing his role as a hands-on dad and making family his focus.
