Gypsy Rose Blanchard has shared the reasons behind her divorce from Ryan Anderson, seven months after announcing their separation.
The former inmate, who is now pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Ken Urker, revealed in a Dec. 9 interview with People that the turning point in her marriage came during an intense argument in March.
Gypsy, 33, explained that this argument led her to the realization that she had been “settling” in her marriage.
“It’s kind of like, ‘OK, well, you know that you’re settling, that you’re kind of pushing on to just do what everybody else does in life, but you’re just settling,'” she said.
Gypsy, who married Ryan in June 2022 while still incarcerated for her role in the murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, also discussed the resolution of their financial disagreements in court.
Despite the separation, she expressed a desire to end things with Ryan amicably, extending an offer for a civil conversation to bring closure.
However, Ryan waived his right to attend their court date, and it’s unclear whether he will ever respond to her invitation.
As Gypsy moves forward, she is focused on her new life with Ken Urker, her rekindled romance. The couple is expecting a daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, in January.
Gypsy spoke warmly of Ken, saying, “I’m in love,” and sharing how he supported her during difficult emotional times.
“For the first time in my life, I’m doing something that makes me happy,” Gypsy added.
“I’m prioritizing me.” She is now embracing motherhood and looking forward to a fresh start with Ken and their growing family.
