Danielle Bernstein, the founder of fashion brand WeWoreWhat, has ended her engagement and parted ways with her fiancé, Cooper Weisman, bringing an end to their plans to marry.
In a statement shared on her Instagram Stories on Friday, Bernstein said she had chosen to speak out after keeping her personal life private for some time.
“I’ve been quiet about my personal life, and wasn’t ready to speak on it until now. We’re stepping away from our relationship with love and respect,” she wrote.
Bernstein stressed that there was no dramatic fallout behind the breakup, saying the two had simply realised they were not meant to be together long term.

“There’s no big dramatic reason. We’re just not the right forever,” she said, adding that the decision took courage. She asked for privacy and kindness for both of them during the transition and thanked her followers for their continued support.
The announcement comes weeks after reports emerged that the couple’s wedding plans had been put on hold. Page Six previously reported that Weisman had told people close to him that the ceremony was no longer moving forward. Online speculation later suggested the split may have involved a disagreement over a prenuptial agreement, though neither Bernstein nor Weisman has confirmed this.
Bernstein was first linked to Weisman in 2023, after hinting at a new relationship with a subtle photo shared on Instagram. Weisman, who works as a director of tenant representation at Newmark in New York City, proposed in June 2025.
He popped the question on a New York City rooftop, presenting Bernstein with a pear-shaped engagement ring. At the time, she excitedly announced the engagement online, writing: “YES YES A MILLION TIMES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Before her relationship with Weisman, Bernstein dated financier Anthony Adler for four years. The couple split in April 2023.
