Rapper 6ix9ine has revealed plans to use his upcoming three-month prison term to shed 70 pounds.
Speaking to TMZ in Spanish after being sentenced for probation violations, the controversial rapper said he felt Judge Engelmayer’s sentence was fair. Due to his cooperation with federal authorities, 6ix9ine expects to be placed in a secure unit and claims he’s not worried about attacks while behind bars.
Instead, the rapper is focusing on a different challenge—his weight. He told TMZ he plans to drop from 190 pounds to 120 pounds by eating just one box of Oreos per day during his incarceration.
On December 5, Judge Engelmayer sentenced 6ix9ine to three months in prison and one year of supervised release, with a reporting date set for January 6.
During the sentencing hearing, the rapper delivered an emotional plea for leniency, asking the judge to “walk a mile in [his] shoes.” He recounted repeated harassment and violence he has faced for cooperating with federal authorities, including being threatened with fistfights and having a drink thrown at him during a 2021 UFC fight.
“Each scenario, I walked away,” he told the court. “How many times do I have to walk away for you guys to see it’s a pattern?”
6ix9ine also claimed that his music career has been stalled due to being “blackballed” by music executives, making it difficult for him to perform or work in the industry.
“I need you to see the facts, and please have mercy,” he said. “I take full responsibility. But mental health is a real thing.”
