Jenny McCarthy made a striking appearance in a red bikini, showing off her newly slimmed-down figure in a festive Barbie-themed Christmas card photoshoot alongside her husband, Donnie Wahlberg.
The former Playboy model, 53, posed on the beach while Wahlberg sported his toned abs in matching red swim trunks, with the caption reading: “A Palm Springs Christmas Edition.”
Earlier this week, McCarthy opened up to People about the medical challenges behind her weight loss. Over the past year, she underwent nine mouth surgeries that left her unable to eat solid foods. “I had one infection that turned into another and another, and then I had these growths show up on my eyeballs,” she explained, adding that her teeth and implants were failing. “I’ve been on antibiotics for a year and had to eat soft foods only.”

She described the pain and setbacks in detail: “Every time we thought it had cleared up, it came back again. I’d be in massive pain with my jaw swelling up, and at the same time, I was getting these growths popping up on my eyeballs. People should actually feel a little sorry for me!”

On capturing Wahlberg’s chiseled look for the shoot, McCarthy revealed it’s all about timing. “The secret is we always shoot it when Donnie gets off tour. He’s been dancing around on stage for his Vegas residency and is in great shape. I have to do the shoot in that window before he turns into that donut-loving cop on ‘Boston Blue,’” she said, referencing his role as detective Danny Reagan.
Looking ahead to the holidays, McCarthy admitted this year will be “tricky” due to conflicting filming schedules. While Wahlberg films Boston Blue, she is busy with The Masked Singer in Los Angeles. “Thanksgiving and Christmas will mean more to us than ever this year. It’s just me and him at home in Chicago, me cooking a bird, and enjoying each other,” she said.
