The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced that the training for examiners of the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) will take place in March and April 2025.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, KNEC stated that the training fee is Sh10,500, but only shortlisted applicants will be required to make payments.
Those selected will receive a notification via SMS and through the application portal with details on how to complete the payment process.
The training will be conducted in two phases: an online session followed by a physical, residential training.
Shortlisted trainees will receive instructions on how to access the online training materials, while the venue for the residential training will be communicated later.
The notice emphasized that the residential session will be mandatory for all selected trainees.
Successful candidates will be engaged by KNEC to mark KJSEA assessments based on the council’s recruitment criteria and the personnel needs for each subject.
To qualify, applicants must be practicing teachers or tutors in the relevant subject areas, registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or Public Service Commission. They must hold at least a Diploma in Education and have a minimum of three years of teaching experience.
