NSYNC fans hoping for more reunion action might not have to say “bye bye bye” just yet.
While the boy band—consisting of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick—reunited briefly in 2023, Chasez recently hinted that there could be even more to come.
On the LadyGang podcast, Chasez shared that while the group is still not officially reuniting, they’ve been discussing the idea more than ever before.
“I will say this,” he told hosts Keltie Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jac Vanek on the Nov. 26 episode.
“I’m not trying to gaslight, I’m not trying to do any of that nonsense. But we are talking more than we’ve ever talked about it.”
However, Chasez made it clear that any potential reunion is still “not real right now.” He emphasized that if NSYNC were to reunite, it would need to feel authentic.
“You go where inspiration is, right?” he explained.
“I’m not one of those people that fakes it very well. Whenever I’ve tried to fake it, I’ve always felt s–tty about it.”
In case NSYNC does reunite and create new music, Chasez said they would need to balance fresh material with their classic hits.
He referenced bands like the Rolling Stones, saying, “Everybody wants to go see the Rolling Stones.
They’ve been doing it forever, but you still want to hear ‘Satisfaction.'” He continued,
“I want to give the people what they want, I do. It’s a part of my nature, I guess. But I also can’t lie to myself, so I have to be true to myself as well.”
In June, Joey Fatone also weighed in on the possibility of a full-scale reunion, noting how different their lives are now compared to the early 2000s.
“Back in the day when we were younger, nobody was married, nobody had kids, but as we got older, we’re married, we have kids,” Fatone explained to E! News.
“But the thing is, for me, do we want to do it? Everybody’s older, everybody has different personalities now. How do we deal with that? I’m not saying that it’s bad. It’s just a matter of making it cohesive.”
While NSYNC fans will have to wait and see if the band members decide to fully reunite, it seems the possibility is very much on the table.
