Lilian Ng’ang’a Pays Emotional Tribute To Her Late Driver, Seven Years After His Passing

Kenyan businesswoman Lilian Ng’ang’a has shared a heartfelt tribute to her late driver, Philip, who passed away seven years ago. In an emotional social media post, Lilian opened up about her ongoing grief and the profound impact Philip had on her life. Despite the passing of time, her deep sense of loss remains, as she continues to miss him and reflect on the bond they shared.

Bond Between Lilian Ng’ang’a & Her Late Driver Philip

On September 16, Lilian took to Instagram to express her feelings, describing Philip as more than just a driver. She emphasized how a personal driver plays a crucial role in one’s daily life, and for her, Philip was exceptional. His death left a void that no other driver has been able to fill.

“My driver Philip, died 7 years ago. If you’ve ever had a driver, you know how big a role they play in your life. I mourn him to date and it’s terrible because I can’t help but compare all the drivers I’ve had after him with him. He was that exceptional!” Lilian wrote in her moving post.

The depth of Lilian’s grief has left many wondering about the unique relationship she shared with Philip. It is clear that Philip was not just an employee to her, but someone she greatly valued. Lilian finds solace in knowing that Philip was aware of her appreciation for him. “What gives me peace is that he knew I valued him and appreciated all he did to make my life easy. Good people are never forgotten,” she added.

Lilian Reflects on the Loss of Her Driver

While Lilian has not shared specific details regarding Philip’s death, she has publicly remembered him each year since his passing. Her reflection on his death has also shed light on a painful chapter of her life. In a past interview, Lilian revealed how the death of her driver and some of her bodyguards left her deeply affected, especially due to the lack of proper mourning and the swift replacement of these individuals, as if their lives had little value.

Lilian recalled how her bodyguards died in an accident shortly after dropping her off at home, followed by Philip’s passing shortly after. The abruptness with which life continued unsettled her. “Then my personal driver also later died, and the same thing happened. In fact, I got a new driver the following morning,” she recounted.

This disregard for their lives and the emotional detachment from their deaths led Lilian to question the environment she was in at the time, even contributing to her separation from her ex-husband. “The two incidents hit me hard. That disregard for their lives, just because they were security officers, also contributed to me separating from him. I was like, so if it was me dead, would life have continued the same way?” Lilian reflected.
