PnB Rock’s Alleged Shooter Deemed Unfit For Trial

A Los Angeles judge ruled on Friday that the young man accused of killing rapper PnB Rock during a 2022 robbery at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ’N Waffles remains unfit to stand trial, according to Rolling Stone.

The judge stated that the accused still lacks the “necessary competency” to participate in legal proceedings.

“The recommendation is that the previous orders remain,” Commissioner Bradford said. “The proceedings remain suspended, remediation continues.”

This ruling comes after Los Angeles County jurors heard opening statements in the trial for PnB Rock’s murder.

The unnamed teen, who was 17 at the time of the shooting, appeared in court on Friday. He is accused of entering the restaurant, shooting PnB Rock in the chest, and then shooting him in the back after he fell to the floor.

The teen’s father, Freddie Trone, and stepmother, Shauntel Trone, have also been charged in connection with the murder.

Freddie Trone has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, robbery, and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Shauntel Trone avoided trial by accepting a plea deal. Another man, Tremont Jones, has pleaded not guilty to robbery, conspiracy, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

A follow-up hearing has been scheduled for next month.
