The Commission for University Education and several universities have announced job vacancies in a fresh recruitment drive targeting professionals across multiple fields.
In a notice issued on May 12, 2026, the Commission for University Education (CUE) advertised more than 40 positions on both contract and permanent and pensionable terms.
Among the contract positions advertised are Corporation Secretary and Director of Legal Services, Director of Internal Audit and Risk Assurance, and Deputy Director of Corporate Communication and Public Relations.
CUE is also seeking to recruit staff on permanent and pensionable terms for positions including Assistant Commission Secretary – Programme Accreditation, Assistant Commission Secretary – Institutional Accreditation, Assistant Commission Secretary – Quality Assurance, Principal Librarian, Principal Planning Officer, Principal ICT Officer, Senior Office Administrator, Senior Programme Accreditation Officer, Senior Institutional Accreditation Officer, Senior Quality Assurance Officer, Senior Supply Chain Management Officer, and Programme Accreditation Officer.
Other vacancies advertised on permanent and pensionable terms include Institutional Accreditation Officer, Library Accreditation Officer/Librarian, Quality Assurance Officer, Research Officer, Accountant, Senior Assistant Office Administrator, Senior Legal Assistant, Senior Records Management Assistant, Senior ICT Assistant, Senior Security Assistant, Corporate Communications Assistant, Human Resource and Administration Assistant, Accounts Assistant (re-advertisement), Driver, and Office Assistant.

Interested and qualified candidates have been asked to submit applications online through the careers portal available on the CUE website. The commission said all applications must be received on or before June 2, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. East Africa Time.
Meanwhile, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology has advertised vacancies for Senior Lecturers and Tutorial Fellows in various departments.
The university said additional information on the vacancies can be accessed through its website, www.mmust.ac.ke, with the application deadline also set for June 2, 2026.
At the same time, Rongo University has announced vacancies for Lecturers, Tutorial Fellows, Assistant Registrar, Accountant and Assistant Accountant positions.
The institution said detailed requirements and application guidelines are available on its website, www.rongovarsity.ac.ke/vacancies.
Rongo University stated that interested applicants should submit their applications by June 13, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. East Africa Time.
