Former U.S. Women’s National Team striker Alex Morgan is set to become a mother of three, sharing the news in an emotional Mother’s Day post that quickly drew congratulations from across the football world.
The 36-year-old made the announcement on Sunday, May 10, via Instagram, revealing she is expecting her third child with husband Servando Carrasco.
“Mother’s Day feeling extra special this year. Excited to welcome baby #3 this Fall,” Morgan wrote alongside a short video capturing a quiet beachside family moment at sunset.
In the clip, Morgan is seen walking along the shore with her back to the camera, accompanied by her daughter Charlie, 6, while Carrasco holds their one-year-old son, Enzo. The scene, filmed with a phone set up nearby, transitions into a tender reveal as Morgan turns and lifts her shirt to show her baby bump. Charlie sweetly leans in to kiss it before the family shares a warm embrace and a moment together by the ocean.

The announcement prompted an immediate wave of reactions from the sports community. Her former teammates from the United States women’s national soccer team commented with celebratory messages, while the National Women’s Soccer League also joined in congratulating the couple.
“Charlie and Enzo will be the best siblings ❤️,” the USWNT wrote. Former teammate Abby Wambach also shared her excitement, calling the moment “amazing” and congratulating Morgan on the growing family.

Morgan’s announcement comes less than a year after she revealed her retirement from professional soccer in September 2024, a decision she tied to her pregnancy with her second child. At the time, she described the transition as deeply personal, saying she had reached clarity about stepping away from the sport at the start of the year.
