Rick Harrison has said his son Corey Harrison does not need financial help for medical bills following a serious motorcycle accident earlier this year.
The Pawn Stars star addressed the issue after a fundraising campaign was launched to support Corey’s recovery.
“As far as I know, I paid all of Corey’s medical bills long before he put the GoFundMe out,” Rick said through a representative on Friday in comments to Page Six. “He is a grown man in his 40’s and is responsible for how he handles his finances.”
The fundraiser was launched earlier this week by Corey’s friend Aron Chambers, who said the campaign was seeking emergency funds to cover more than $100,000 in medical expenses following a motorcycle crash in Tulum.
Corey, 42, was seriously injured in the January accident, suffering 11 broken ribs. At the time, he shared an update with fans on Instagram.
“Pretty messed up but I’m good,” he wrote from his hospital bed. “Crash bars are awesome. Three nights in the hospital. 11 breaks in my rib cage.”

The injuries forced Corey to miss his father’s wedding to Angie Polushkin in January. A representative for Rick told Entertainment Weekly that Corey was expected to recover fully but would remain on bed rest for about six weeks.
According to Chambers, the crash also left Corey with a concussion, internal bleeding and a punctured lung. He was initially taken to a hospital in Playa del Carmen, where treatment costs quickly increased.
Chambers said Corey spent a total of 18 days in hospital and underwent three life-saving surgeries. He also claimed the reality TV personality is now several months behind on rent and still needs financial support for medication and follow-up medical care.
“He’s not yet strong enough to travel back to the United States for continued treatment and support from his family,” Chambers wrote on the fundraising page.
Chambers described Corey as someone who has always worked hard and supported others.
“Corey has always been the guy who works hard, stays humble, and gives back without asking for anything in return,” he wrote. “Now, it’s our turn to rally for him.”
Corey, however, told TMZ that his current condition has made it difficult to return to work.
“What am I going to do, fly out to Vegas and sell stuff?” he said. “I can’t move from my recliner.”
