A$AP Rocky surprised fans on Monday after abruptly pulling out of a scheduled Reddit “Ask Me Anything” session, venting his frustration at moderators on the rapper’s official subreddit.
The Harlem-born star had been expected to answer fan questions live, but instead took to social media to announce the cancellation in blunt fashion. “WAS GON DO AMA, FUK IT NOW!” Rocky wrote, before adding, “YALL MODS ARE CLOWNS.”
Subreddit moderators quickly responded, apologizing publicly and explaining that the situation stemmed from a technical issue. According to one moderator, Rocky’s account had been caught in Reddit’s spam filter despite being approved, preventing the AMA from moving forward as planned. The mod admitted fault, invited users to “roast” the moderation team in the comments, and assured fans that no one would be banned over the mishap.

The online drama comes at a busy moment for Rocky, who is gearing up for the release of his long-awaited fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb, set to arrive on Friday. In the run-up to the project, the 37-year-old recently dropped a new track titled “Helicopter,” along with its visually striking music video.
The animated visual quickly sparked debate online, with some viewers suggesting it may have been created using artificial intelligence. Rocky shut down the speculation himself, emphatically posting that the video was not AI-generated and describing it instead as “just generational.”
“Helicopter” follows the album’s lead single, “Punk Rocky,” which featured an accompanying video appearance from actress Winona Ryder. Don’t Be Dumb marks Rocky’s first full-length project since 2018’s Testing, following earlier releases At. Long. Last. ASAP in 2015 and his 2013 debut, Long. Live. ASAP.
