Cardi B continues questioning those who have problematic takes on Vice President Kamala Harris. Since VP Harris announced on Sunday (July 21) that she’d be running as a Democratic nominee for President, inappropriate comments have been made about her on social media, including the topic of her dating history.
Harris, who’s been married to lawyer and second gentleman of the United States, Douglas Craig Emhoff, since 2014. But the 59-year-old VP has faced recently derision for previously dating television host Montell Williams and, allegedly, former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown. One of the most offensive statements made about Harris’ past came from conservative podcast Megyn Kelly, who accused Harris of having slept “her way into politics and into power.”
Lashing out at the ridicule on Tuesday (July 23) was Cardi B, who went to X with a valid question: “What does Kamala Harris husband or relationships have to do wit her credentials? Do y’all hire people based on who they fcking?”
Cardi’s continued extending support to Harris, celebrating the VP upon the news of her presidential running over the weekend.

“STOP PLAYING WIT ME!!!! Check the date.. said this on JUNE 30TH,” Cardi wrote in her Instagram caption on Sunday. “Been told y’all Kamala should’ve been the 2024 candidate. Y’all be trying to play the Bronx education, baby this what I do!!! Been my passion.. don’t let my accent fool y’all.”
“I feel like they should have passed the torch to Kamala,” she said in the clip above. “This was the perfect moment for her … I feel like right now it would be her perfect time to shine.”
