Maksud Agadjani, the owner of popular New York-based jewelry brand TraxNYC, has sparked online debate after confronting another jewelry company he accuses of using his name to scam customers.
Agadjani shared videos on social media showing a heated confrontation with a person believed to work for AKAY Diamonds. In the footage, the jeweler angrily accuses the company of misrepresenting products and misleading customers by claiming their jewelry matched TraxNYC standards.
In one clip, Agadjani is seen shouting at the employee and demanding answers over what he described as fraudulent sales. He alleged that a customer who intended to buy jewelry from TraxNYC was instead sold a bracelet by AKAY Diamonds after being told it was the same quality.
According to Agadjani, testing later showed the bracelet was made of 10-karat gold rather than the advertised 14-karat gold. He shared what he said was a receipt from the transaction, claiming the customer had been overcharged.
“These practices have been happening repeatedly,” Agadjani said in a follow-up video, adding that he had previously tolerated the situation.
Additional footage showed Agadjani refunding the affected customer and giving him an extra $1,000, while continuing to criticize the rival company’s business practices.
In a final video, Agadjani claimed the confrontation escalated physically. He alleged that employees from AKAY Diamonds attacked him after he exposed the issue, saying they attempted to restrain him using his own chain. He displayed marks on his neck, which he said were caused during the incident. No official police statement has been released at the time of publication.
The incident comes amid Agadjani’s own past legal troubles. In 2024, rapper 50 Cent filed a lawsuit against the jeweler, accusing him of trademark infringement and violating his right to publicity. The rapper alleged that Agadjani promoted a chain that closely resembled one of his custom pieces.
50 Cent later addressed the matter publicly on social media, warning the jeweler against using his likeness or designs without permission.
Neither AKAY Diamonds nor law enforcement authorities have publicly responded to the latest allegations.
