Tennis star Venus Williams has tied the knot with Andrea Preti in a heartfelt wedding in Palm Beach, Florida, over the weekend. Close friends and family, including her famous sister Serena Williams, were in attendance to witness the couple exchange vows.
Williams stunned in a sheer, plunging lace gown designed by Georges Hobeika. “I wanted to wear a dress that I thought Andrea would love and that was magical and perfect for a Florida wedding,” she told Vogue.
The ceremony was planned by Jennifer Zabinski of JZ Events, the same company that organized Serena Williams’ 2017 wedding to Alexis Ohanian.
Earlier, on September 18, the couple celebrated their union in Ischia, Italy. “We had this dream to do our wedding in Italy,” Williams said. “But we didn’t have enough time to do the paperwork — because I’m a foreigner, it can take about eight months. So we decided to have a second wedding.”
Following the official ceremony, guests enjoyed a Naples-inspired dinner at the exclusive waterfront restaurant Lisola, according to Hola!.
Leading up to the Palm Beach wedding, reports of Williams’ plans surfaced after she was spotted in Sant’Angelo, Italy. Photos showed her riding in a golf cart wearing a white sun hat with “SIG.RA PRETI” — Italian for “Mrs. Preti” — along with a white dress and black sneakers. Onlookers noted that members of the wedding party wore “Team Bride” and “Team Groom” T-shirts.
Williams confirmed her engagement to Preti in July, one year after the couple was first romantically linked. Prior to Preti, Williams had been in a relationship with Annenberg heir Nicky Hammond, which ended amicably in 2019. She has also dated professional golfer Hank Kuehne and model Elio Pis.
