JoJo Siwa and her boyfriend Chris Hughes are teasing fans with the possibility of an engagement as they approach their first Christmas together.
“You always get people [who] get engaged on Christmas or Christmas morning, I see on Instagram every year you’re going to see somebody who gets engaged,” Hughes, 32, told the Sun in an interview published Saturday. “I kinda like the idea of [an engagement] being at a time where it could be expected.”
Siwa, 22, playfully responded, “Alright. Keep me guessing, aren’t ya?” The “J Team” star also revealed she has considered buying a ring for Hughes and proposing to him herself.

However, Hughes admitted he would feel “uncomfortable” being proposed to. “I’ve spoken to people about it, before you, obviously. And I actually said, I think if I was proposed to, that would make me really uncomfortable,” he told Siwa.

The only way Siwa would make the first move, he said, is if he hadn’t proposed to her within seven years. “I don’t feel like anyone should take seven years,” Hughes added. “It shouldn’t take seven years to work out if you want to marry someone, do you know what I mean?”
Siwa quipped that she would be “down on one knee” on May 27, 2032, if Hughes hadn’t popped the question by then. “I will not wait one extra day,” she joked.

The couple first met while filming Celebrity Big Brother UK in April and quickly hit it off. An insider told The Sun that they “spent their time at the hotel holding hands and looked like a giddy couple in the early throes of love.”
The romance continued to heat up the following month when the duo confirmed their relationship during a PDA-filled getaway in Mexico. Hughes later told Fabulous Magazine in July that he would “love” to marry Siwa, hinting that wedding bells could be in their future.
