Kylie Jenner has revealed that she recently underwent stem cell therapy to address chronic back pain she’s experienced since her last pregnancy. The 28-year-old entrepreneur shared details of her medical journey with her 387 million Instagram followers on Wednesday, December 3.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Jenner posted a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed and explained, “I’ve been dealing with bad chronic back pain for almost three years after my last pregnancy, and nothing I tried seemed to help.”
The Kylie Cosmetics founder credited her sister Kim Kardashian’s experience with stem cell therapy as motivation to explore the treatment herself. Jenner wrote, “Hearing how much relief Kim got gave me the confidence to look into stem cell therapy: I went to @dr.akhan and his team at @eterna.health, and I’m honestly so grateful for the opportunity and resources. Everyone’s body is different, but this has been a huge step in my healing. Definitely do your research, talk to your doctor and medical professionals, but I just wanted to share in case this helps anyone.”
In addition to candid captions, Jenner shared photos showing bandages on her lower back, a selfie with Dr. Akhan, and a snapshot from his medical office.
Jenner, who shares daughter Stormi, 7, and son Aire, 3, with ex Travis Scott, has recently spoken openly about the challenges of motherhood. During an appearance on sister Khloé Kardashian’s podcast Khloé in Wonderland, she discussed balancing her personal identity with parenting.
“I think I have a really good balance,” Jenner said. “I definitely still feel like myself. It was really hard for me having kids so young — just the emotions, and the postpartum.”
Kardashian, 41, responded, “And probably being the only one in your circle to have kids.”
“The only one,” Jenner confirmed, noting that she became closer to friend Yris Palmer, who also had children at a young age. “It took me like a year, probably, after — both times — to really feel like myself again,” she admitted.
Kardashian added with a laugh, “I think it just takes a minute to get your f—— mojo back.” Jenner agreed, reflecting on the long but ultimately rewarding journey of postpartum recovery.
