First Lady Melania Trump has added a playful twist to this year’s White House Christmas decorations with a Lego portrait of President Donald Trump.
The piece, unveiled Monday, Dec. 1, appears to recreate the president’s iconic White House portrait and is part of the holiday theme, “Home Is Where The Heart Is.”
The Lego portraits, displayed in the Green Room alongside a depiction of President George Washington, are complemented by festive wreaths adorned with red Lego ribbons. According to a White House press release, Melania drew inspiration from “the joys, challenges, and frequent motion derived from motherhood and business.”

Speaking about the decorations, the first lady said, “The constant movement has taught me that home is not merely a physical space; rather, it is the warmth and comfort I carry within, regardless of my surroundings. This Christmas, let’s celebrate the love we hold within ourselves, and share it with the world around us. After all, wherever we are, we can create a home filled with grace, radiance, and endless possibilities.”
The Lego portraits are just one of the many highlights of this year’s festive display. In the “Fostering the Future Red Room,” 10,000 blue butterflies flutter among a tree decorated with Be Best ornaments, honoring the First Lady’s controversial first-term initiative. The Blue Room, home to the official White House Christmas tree, features a concolor fir from Sidney, Michigan, decorated to honor Gold Star Families and representing the official bird and flower of every U.S. state and territory.

Elsewhere, a tree collar in the East Room marks the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary. Overall, the Trump family’s Christmas setup includes 75 wreaths with red bows, more than 50 Christmas trees, 700 feet of garland, 25,000 feet of ribbon, and 10,000 butterflies.
The Lego portrait adds to a growing collection of new artworks featuring President Trump during his second term. In September, longtime Trump ally Sebastian Gorka shared a dramatic painting of the president walking forward, hands tucked into a dark coat, flanked by rows of American flags.
