Backstreet Boys’ Brian Littrell and Wife Sue Beachgoer for Alleged Trespassing on Private Florida Property

Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys and his wife, Leighanne Littrell, have filed a $50,000 lawsuit against a Florida woman accused of repeatedly trespassing on their private beach property in Santa Rosa Beach. The suit, obtained by Page Six on Friday, names Carolyn Barrington Hill, 67, alleging a string of confrontations that began in April.

According to the Littrells, they have marked their property with “no trespassing” signs and set up chairs, umbrellas, and tables to clearly delineate private areas, but their efforts were reportedly ignored. The couple claims Hill repeatedly entered the property, placed her own beach furniture, and verbally harassed their property manager, shouting and cursing when asked to move.

The lawsuit also alleges that Hill “videotaped” the Littrells without consent and encouraged others to trespass on the property. The couple, parents to 23-year-old son Baylee Littrell, said they initially hired private security but eventually relied on the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, which is also named in the suit for allegedly failing to enforce their property rights.

Bodycam footage obtained by News 13 shows a May encounter between Hill and a deputy, in which Hill became agitated after being asked to move. The deputy attempted to calm her, telling her she would be fine if she relocated to a spot in front of another property, while expressing personal disagreement with privatizing beaches.

Hill, in her interactions with the deputy, claimed the Littrells and their property manager had threatened her — including an incident involving an electric drill. She warned the deputy that she would use pepper spray if the threat continued. The property manager admitted to holding the drill but insisted it was not meant as a weapon.

Hill has since filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, calling the complaint “facially deficient” and asserting that it seeks to prevent her from exercising her “constitutional right” to access the local beach. A hearing on the motion is scheduled for next month.

The Littrells’ disputes over property lines are not limited to Hill. In April 2023, Brian and Leighanne were recorded in a heated exchange with an unidentified beachgoer over the boundaries of their property. Video footage posted online shows Brian holding a “no trespassing” sign while Leighanne argued with the man and playfully grabbed a nearby person’s phone who was filming the altercation.
