Smokey Robinson Faces Two New Sexual Battery Allegations, Including Claim From Former Male Employee

Music legend Smokey Robinson is facing two additional sexual battery allegations after a former male worker and a fifth former housekeeper joined an existing $50 million lawsuit against the singer.

The updated complaint — filed by “Jane Does” 1 through 4 earlier this year — now includes accusations from “John Doe 1” and “Jane Doe 5.” The original suit alleged that Robinson repeatedly assaulted four former housekeepers during their employment.

According to the amended filing, John Doe 1 began working at Robinson’s home in Chatsworth, California, in 2013, handling car detailing and related work. He claims Robinson, 85, began sexually harassing him soon after he was hired. The complaint says Robinson would approach him wearing only underwear and allegedly touch himself in front of him while making vulgar comments.

John Doe 1 alleges that in 2022 Robinson grabbed his hand and tried to force it onto his private area. He says he left the property immediately and later quit — but returned in 2023 at the couple’s request. The lawsuit claims the behavior continued, and he resigned again after hearing that other workers had similar experiences.

Jane Doe 5 says she first worked for the Robinsons in 2005 and returned after a brief leave, continuing through 2011. She alleges Robinson sexually harassed her repeatedly, often calling her to the bathroom while he was showering and asking her to scrub his back. She claims he tried multiple times to force her to touch him and that he frequently walked around the home naked. She also says he made inappropriate comments, rubbed against her, and once asked her to meet him at a hotel.

According to her claims, Robinson’s wife, Frances, was aware of her husband’s actions but did not intervene. She also accuses Frances of yelling at her, using ethnically offensive language, and blaming her for missing items.

The plaintiffs accuse Robinson and his wife of sexual battery, assault, harassment, gender violence, creating a hostile work environment, negligence, emotional distress, wage violations and other labor-related claims.

Robinson’s attorney, Christopher Frost, strongly denied all accusations in a statement. He said the new plaintiffs are part of a “conspiracy” aimed at damaging the couple’s reputation, calling the allegations “false,” “ugly” and driven by “avaricious motives.” Frost added that the Robinsons have filed their own lawsuit accusing the group of defamation, conspiracy and elder abuse.

He also claimed the anonymous accusers have refused to share documents and evidence that would allow investigators to review their claims, saying, “Once the public can see the truth, their fabricated claims will be revealed.”

Robinson, a Motown icon known for classics like “Tracks of My Tears,” has not personally commented on the new allegations.
