Ariana Grande Hints at Stepping Back from Pop Music as She Prepares “One Last Hurrah” Tour

Ariana Grande is hinting at a major career shift — possibly trading in pop superstardom for a full-time future in film and television.

The Wicked: For Good actress revealed that her highly anticipated 2026 “Eternal Sunshine” tour will likely be her final tour “for a long, long time,” calling it her “one last hurrah” as a pop artist.

Speaking on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast this week, the 32-year-old superstar said she has no plans to quit music entirely, but suggested that touring — and possibly the pace of her pop career — is about to take a backseat.

“I don’t want to say anything definitive,” Grande explained. “But I think I’m very excited to do this small tour, and I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time.”

Grande didn’t reveal additional details about the tour but made it clear that her future will look very different from the past decade of chart-topping albums, global tours and nonstop pop momentum.

“I think the last 10 to 15 years will look very different from the ones that are coming up,” she said.

The singer-actress, who first rose to fame on Nickelodeon before becoming one of the world’s biggest pop stars, says reconnecting with her early creative passions has been transformative.

“I spent so much time only doing pop music, but I grew up as a girl who loved musical theater and comedy,” she shared. “I feel a lot more connected to myself and my art when I’m chasing the things that feel right in the moment.”

Grande confirmed she is currently filming a new movie:
“I read the script and I love it — it’s funny, I love the cast, and I’m so excited.”

Her acting schedule is quickly filling up. She was recently announced as part of American Horror Story Season 13, marking her return to Ryan Murphy’s universe, and she is also set to star in Ben Stiller’s upcoming comedy Focker-In-Law.

Despite her shifting focus toward Hollywood, Grande says performing still holds a special place in her heart, which is why she agreed to step back on stage next year.

“I’m doing a small stint of shows because it authentically sounded good to me,” she told Poehler. “Following those authentic impulses feels like the right idea.”

The “Eternal Sunshine” tour will be Grande’s first trek in six years, following her 2019 Sweetener World Tour — and if her hints are any indication, it might be fans’ last chance to see her live for quite some time.
