Streamer Jack Doherty Arrested in Miami Over Drugs During Content Shoot

Streamer Jack Doherty is facing legal trouble after being arrested in Miami over the weekend during a content creation session that went awry.

According to authorities, officers found “half of an orange oval-shaped pill with a 3 on it,” consistent with an amphetamine, along with three hand-rolled suspected cannabis cigarettes. Doherty reportedly “refused officers’ commands in a nonchalant manner,” prompting the charges.

He now faces three counts: possession of a controlled substance (amphetamine), possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana, and resisting an officer without violence. The amphetamine charge is a third-degree felony, while the other two are first-degree misdemeanors. In Florida, a third-degree felony carries a maximum of five years in prison, and a first-degree misdemeanor can carry up to one year. If sentenced to the maximum on all counts, Doherty could face up to seven years behind bars.

However, experts say this is unlikely. Data from Measures for Justice shows that in Miami-Dade County, less than 8.5% of people convicted of nonviolent felonies without prior records received prison time, with a median sentence of just 24 months for those who did.

Despite the arrest, Doherty has continued streaming, keeping his fans updated and maintaining his online presence while the case unfolds.
