Ray J is standing by his explosive allegation that Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, orchestrated the release of the infamous sex tape that catapulted Kardashian to fame — even after the duo filed a defamation lawsuit against him.
“Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner’s lawsuit is not about defamation — it’s about publicity, power, and punishment,” Ray J, 44, asserted in court documents obtained by Page Six Thursday, first reported by TMZ.
In the filing, submitted by his attorney Howard King, Ray J claims that Kardashian, 45, consensually filmed the sex tape in 2003 and that he and Kardashian later discussed releasing it in 2006. According to the documents, Kardashian allegedly told him that Kris Jenner should oversee its release.

Ray J — born William Ray Norwood Jr. — accused Kardashian and her mother of being “furious” that he no longer supports the narrative that the tape was leaked against Kardashian’s will. He further alleged that Kardashian, Jenner, and ex-husband Kanye West falsely accused him of sexual assault and extortion on Hulu’s The Kardashians.
The filing also claims that Ray J reached a settlement after pushing back legally, reportedly receiving $6 million and an agreement that the sex tape would no longer be publicly referenced. However, he alleges the reality stars violated that agreement when the tape was discussed on the show shortly after the settlement.
“[I] will not allow Kardashian and Jenner to weaponize the judicial system, shirk their contractual obligations, and sacrifice me on the altar of fame,” his attorney wrote in the documents.

Kardashian and Jenner’s legal team responded, with lawyer Alex Spiro telling Page Six, “After realizing he is losing the case and losing his way, this disjointed rambling distraction is not intimidating anyone. Ray J will lose this frivolous case too.”
The ongoing saga began last month when Kardashian and Jenner sued Ray J for defamation after he claimed he was cooperating with federal authorities to build a RICO case against the two. Their lawsuit states that “no law enforcement agency has initiated any criminal proceedings or investigations related to racketeering” involving either woman, describing Ray J’s claims as “false and inflammatory.”
