Nicki Minaj is raising new alarms over what she says has been a series of dangerous swatting attacks at her home — and she believes they are the result of political targeting.
The rapper made the claim in a now-deleted post on X, where she responded to a fan who criticized her for expressing support for Donald Trump’s recent comments about religious persecution in Nigeria. In her response, Minaj suggested that her political views have made her a target.
wrote that her house had been swatted “multiple times” while her young son was inside, describing incidents where heavily armed officers arrived at her door. According to her, there were moments when “maybe 20 officers with guns drawn” pointed weapons at her home, something she believes happened “due to political corruption.”

Minaj’s home in Hidden Hills, California, has been swatted on several occasions. The most recent incident took place in April, when emergency services received a false report claiming an assault was taking place at her residence. Minaj was not home that day. In June 2023, however, she was present when authorities responded to a call alleging that her two-year-old son was being abused. Police and child services arrived, spoke with Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty, and determined the report was a hoax. The following month, officers showed up again after a caller falsely claimed Minaj had been shot. She was home for that incident as well.
Swatting — the act of making a false emergency report to trigger an armed police response — is a crime that has become increasingly common in cases involving celebrities, online personalities, and political figures. Authorities in Los Angeles have previously confirmed the calls to Minaj’s home were hoaxes, though no arrests have been announced.
The conversation surrounding Minaj began when she publicly praised Trump’s st
atement about alleged violence against Christians in Nigeria, saying his remarks gave her a “deep sense of gratitude.” She wrote that people should be free to worship without fear, adding that individuals do not need to share the same beliefs to respect one another. Her comments have sparked debate among fans globally, particularly across Africa, where reactions have been deeply polarized.
Minaj has not released additional details to support her claim that the swatting calls are politically motivated, and law enforcement has not indicated that there is a political element. However, to Minaj, the pattern feels deliberate — and deeply personal, especially as her son has been present during some of the incidents.
