American rapper Blueface has been released from prison, marking the end of a nearly two-year period behind bars. The 28-year-old artist confirmed the news himself through a series of posts on Instagram, casually announcing that he is now a free man.
“Still that n***a, two years later, on the dead homies,” he said in one clip shared to his Instagram Stories, which quickly circulated across social media. He also encouraged fans to follow his account soon, hinting that he may switch his profile to private.
According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Blueface became eligible for parole this month. His incarceration stemmed from a series of legal troubles: he had turned himself in to authorities in January 2024 after violating the terms of his probation. That probation was originally imposed following a 2022 shooting incident in Las Vegas. In August 2024, he received a four-year sentence after being found to have violated probation and for a battery-related offense.

In the days leading up to his release, family members appeared to hint that the rapper’s return home was imminent. His mother, Karlissa Saffold, sparked speculation by sharing a video showing someone lying under a blanket, while his father posted a cryptic message on Instagram.
“Today is the end of a chapter in my family’s life,” he wrote. “Tomorrow is the beginning of a new chapter in my family’s life. Can’t wait.”
Just last month, Saffold told TMZ Hip Hop that she was preparing for his homecoming celebrations. “I can’t tell you exactly [when] because he’s like, ‘Don’t be telling my exact date,’” she said. “I have the coming home party. Make sure you guys get your tickets for the celebrity Blueface coming home party. I’m going to be picking him up with his kids. His girlfriend got us a limo so you know I’m excited.”
With his release now official, attention will shift to what comes next for the rapper — including whether he returns to music, reality TV, or a more private life.
