B.G. Explains Lil Wayne’s Absence from Cash Money vs. No Limit Verzuz: “Shorty Wasn’t Feeling Good”

B.G. is setting the record straight about why Lil Wayne didn’t appear at the highly anticipated Cash Money vs. No Limit Verzuz showdown at ComplexCon 2025.

Speaking on The Breakfast Club on Friday (October 31), the Hot Boys rapper revealed that Wayne had actually been in touch with him both the day before and the morning of the event — and had every intention of showing up until his health took a turn.

“I talked to Wayne yesterday, and I talked to Wayne the morning before the Verzuz,” B.G. explained. “Shorty wasn’t feeling good. He had a concert that same night and canceled that as well.”

He added that Wayne’s absence was disappointing for everyone involved — including Verzuz co-founder Swizz Beatz.

“Swizz was even hurt behind it,” he said. “That’s the reason Swizz even pulled the trigger on it in the first place.”

B.G. went on to say that the situation was more serious than fans might have realized:

“I think it was just that shorty wasn’t feeling good, because he was definitely supposed to be there. He told me that he had to go to the hospital. People be thinking it was whatever, but at the end of the day, we ain’t spring chickens no more.”

The canceled show B.G. mentioned was Wayne’s performance scheduled for the official ComplexCon after-party at Drai’s.

Even without Wayne, the Cash Money vs. No Limit face-off still delivered major moments. The two Southern rap powerhouses ran through some of their biggest classics — from Cash Money’s “Back That Azz Up” to No Limit’s “Make Em’ Say Uhh” — drawing massive nostalgia from the crowd.

But the night also took a sharp turn at the end.

Birdman delivered an unexpected jab at former Hot Boys member Turk, who was absent from the stage.

“Shoutout to Turk. You a little bitch. You ain’t here, but fuck you,” Birdman said, before Mannie Fresh stepped in to try and cool things down. Birdman wrapped his remarks with a reminder of Cash Money’s legacy:
“Cash Money ain’t never gonna die as long as I’m alive.”
