Elaine Hendrix Says She’s “Okay” After Being Stretchered Out of Dancing with the Stars Rehearsal

The Parent Trap star Elaine Hendrix is reassuring fans after a painful foot injury led to her being taken out of Dancing with the Stars rehearsals on a stretcher earlier this week.

In an Instagram video shared Wednesday, Oct. 29, the 54-year-old actress appeared alongside her pro dance partner Alan Bersten to update everyone on how she’s doing.

“Hi everyone, doing a check-in to let you know that I’m doing okay,” Elaine said, adding that although she is “up and about,” her foot is still “tender” and “sore.” She explained she has started pain management and will be taking a short break from rehearsals.

“I’m not dancing today, I’m not dancing tomorrow. We’ll be back at it Friday,” she said. “I’m just getting ready to be in that ballroom next Tuesday.”

Alan, 31, thanked fans for their support, saying, “We can feel it and we appreciate it so much.”

Elaine added, “All of your messages — I’m seeing it all… Thank you so much for all the love and support you’re showing. And thank you to the entire Dancing with the Stars team. You’re taking such good care of me.”

The post also included photos of the dramatic Halloween-week look she would have worn — inspired by Mad Max: Fury Road.

Elaine explained that the injury happened after she danced barefoot during rehearsals last week, causing her to tear skin from her right foot due to an old titanium joint. Then on Tuesday, Oct. 28, during ballroom practice, she suddenly froze, saying she couldn’t breathe after something seemed to happen to her rib.

Crew members quickly got medical help. Elaine was placed on a stretcher and taken off the set in an ambulance. During the live show, host Alfonso Ribeiro told viewers that doctors had cleared her to stay in the competition as long as she made it through the elimination round.

The judges reviewed her last full rehearsal — an Argentine Tango to “Bad to the Bone” — and fans rallied behind her.

Elaine and Alan survived elimination and are officially set to return next week.

So yes — she’ll be back in the ballroom.
