Troian Bellisario received a very personal birthday tribute from her husband, Patrick J. Adams, as the actress celebrated her 40th birthday on Tuesday.
The Pretty Little Liars star appeared completely nude in one of the photos Adams posted on Instagram. In the picture, Bellisario was lying on her stomach beside a pool while using her phone, with part of her bare backside visible. The image was one of several included in a carousel showing different moments from their life together.
Other photos showed Bellisario taking an ice bath, spending time with their daughters — Aurora, 7, and Elliott, 4 — and a throwback picture from when she was pregnant.
Adams wrote a loving message alongside the images, saying,
“I don’t know how you do it all or how I got so lucky to do it with you, but I’ll take every damn drop I can get. Happy birthday @sleepinthegardn — you are the gift that never stops giving and everyone lucky enough to know you feels it.”

Bellisario and Adams, 44, married in December 2016. The couple first met in 2009 and, due to their acting careers, spent much of their relationship dating long-distance.

Speaking on Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s podcast Dinner’s On Me in May, Bellisario explained that constant travel and filming schedules meant they sometimes spent very little time together in the same place.
“We always used to joke that the number of hours we’ve actually spent in the same room is very low,” she said.
She added that being apart often creates challenges when they reunite, especially now that they share two children.
“You form your own habits when you’re living apart,” Bellisario said. “So when he comes home, even small things — like how he takes his coffee — feel like adjustments. You want to spend time together, but you also have your routines.”
