Blue Ivy Carter, the daughter of music superstars Beyoncé and Jay-Z, made a stylish appearance at the 27th Annual Angel Ball in New York City on Monday. The event, held at Cipriani Wall Street, is one of the major charity galas raising funds for cancer research. Her grandmother, Tina Knowles, was among the guests honored at the black-tie occasion.
Blue Ivy, now 13, wore a pastel pink silk gown featuring a fitted corset top. She completed the look with soft, feathered sleeves in a lighter shade of pink. Although she did not walk the red carpet, she smiled for cameras as she entered the venue. Her hair was styled in curly blonde braids, and she accessorized with a diamond necklace, earrings, and a silver evening bag, keeping her makeup light and natural.
Earlier in the day, Knowles spoke on The Sherri Show, where she praised Blue Ivy’s growth as a performer. The teenager has appeared onstage with Beyoncé during major tours, including the Cowboy Carter and Renaissance world tours, performing in front of stadiums of more than 70,000 fans.
Knowles said Blue Ivy has learned the importance of hard work, despite growing up in the spotlight. “Nobody is going to just hand it to you because you are somebody’s daughter,” she said. “You have to work hard.”
Blue Ivy has become a recurring part of Beyoncé’s live shows and even performed as a dancer at the singer’s NFL Christmas Day halftime performance. She also contributed vocals to the 2019 Grammy-winning track Brown Skin Girl.
Knowles added that Blue Ivy has also begun guiding her younger sister, Rumi, who recently joined Beyoncé on stage for the Cowboy Carter tour after asking for years to perform. According to Knowles, Blue Ivy advised her younger sister to remain calm while adjusting to the spotlight.
