Pop star and actress Selena Gomez has opened up about her decision to keep her recent wedding to music producer Benny Blanco away from the public eye.
Speaking on The Jennifer Hudson Show on October 21, the 33-year-old Only Murders in the Building star said privacy was her top priority during the intimate ceremony.
“I didn’t want anyone to get photos of my wedding unless it was from me, and I keep my life as private as I can,” Gomez told host Jennifer Hudson.
The singer revealed that she waited three days after the wedding before sharing photos from the event. On September 30, she posted a series of elegant pictures on Instagram showing details of the California ceremony — including her heart-shaped wedding cake, delicate flower arrangements, and three stunning Ralph Lauren wedding gowns.
Her favorite dress, she said, featured a lace halter neck with a heart embroidered with the couple’s initials. According to Ralph Lauren, the gown also had the wedding date stitched inside and was decorated with more than 300 hand-shaped lace flowers and crystal embellishments.

Gomez’s second dress was a draped canopy gown, which she wore as she walked down the aisle. For the reception, she changed into a silk satin halter-neck gown with a low back and a short train.
Blanco, 37, also shared photos from the ceremony on September 28, giving fans a glimpse of Gomez’s long veil, their wedding rings, and intimate moments from their big day. In his caption, he humorously referred to his bride’s Disney Channel beginnings, writing, “I married a real-life Disney princess.”
The couple’s wedding was attended by close friends and family, including Gomez’s longtime best friend Taylor Swift, who played a special role in the celebration.
On October 6, Gomez posted more unseen photos from her wedding to celebrate Swift’s new album The Life of a Showgirl. “In honor of SHOWGIRL … blessed to have you by my side almost 20 years later, gator,” Gomez wrote. “I love you @taylorswift forever and always.”
In one of the photos, Gomez and Swift share a warm hug under twinkling string lights, while another shows them sipping drinks together. A video clip captured Swift admiring her friend in her gown, saying, “Are you even serious? Look at her. Oh my God!”
Gomez and Blanco, who began dating in late 2023, have mostly kept their relationship private, occasionally sharing glimpses of their romance online.
