Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston is embracing a slower pace and learning to prioritize rest after more than three decades in the entertainment industry.
The Friends alum, who became a household name in the 1990s for her iconic role as Rachel Green, says she’s now more intentional about balancing her demanding career with personal downtime. Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, Aniston, 56, revealed that she’s gotten “really good” at carving out time for herself.
“This is another thing that I’ve gotten really good at in the last couple of years — carving out time,” she said. “Just saying to the team, ‘The month of blanky blank is off.’ We’re not going to do anything for whatever happens to be the month that would work that year.”
Aniston explained that once she sets the dates, she makes it clear to her team that she’s unavailable for work. “I’m going to take off. I’m going to have a vacation. There’s going to be no work. And you just kind of have to put it on your calendar,” she shared.

The actress stressed the importance of recharging, saying that overworking can lead to burnout. “If we’re running on fumes because we are working too hard and not giving ourselves the opportunity to refuel our bodies mentally and physically, we’re useless,” she said. “We’re cranky, we’re fatigued, we’re under-slept. The importance of rest and recharge is imperative.”

Aniston, who has often described herself as a “bit of a workaholic,” admitted she’s learning to travel and step away from work. “It’s so critical, I know, but I’m not good at it,” she confessed. “Our work is diminishing returns at the end of the day if you’re just working so much that you don’t have any wonderful life experiences.”
The actress has also adopted a gentler approach to her fitness routine. “You have to really honor where your body is, which I’ve gotten so much better at as I’ve gotten older,” she said. “We love each other now, as corny as that may sound.”
Aniston credits her improved wellness to her partnership with Pvolve, a fitness brand she joined in 2023. She recently teamed up with them again to promote their new Longevity Bundle, inspired by her personal training routine.
“As I’ve become more educated about the body over the years, I’ve been able to become stronger than I’d ever thought,” she said.
