Canadian rapper Drake could not contain his excitement on Monday night after his hometown team, the Toronto Blue Jays, secured a spot in the World Series.
The “6 God” was watching from home as the Blue Jays defeated the Seattle Mariners in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS). When pitcher Jeff Hoffman struck out Seattle star Julio Rodriguez to seal the win, Drake erupted in celebration, shouting and swearing with joy in a video he shared online.

“BIG SHOW ITS UP 6’ERRRRRRRS,” Drake captioned the clip, showing his pure elation as the Blue Jays advanced to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Fall Classic.
Interestingly, Drake didn’t attend the game in person, even though it took place in Toronto. But that didn’t stop him from going all out for his team.
The World Series matchup comes with an extra layer of intrigue — the Dodgers are the home team of Drake’s longtime rap rival, Kendrick Lamar. With both stars passionately supporting their hometown teams, fans are joking that the rivalry might extend from music to baseball.
Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was named ALCS MVP after hitting .385 with three home runs throughout the series.
Game 1 of the World Series begins Friday, giving Drake a few days to catch his breath — before what’s sure to be an emotional showdown between Toronto and Los Angeles.
