Schumer has been candid about her weight loss journey, previously sharing her struggles with the drug Ozempic and her experience with liposuction in 2022. Speaking on The Howard Stern Show earlier this year, she explained that a gene called GDF15 made her prone to nausea, which led to severe side effects from Ozempic.

“I was bedridden. I was vomiting and had no energy,” she said. “Other people take it and they’re all good — so, God bless them.” Schumer added that she couldn’t even play with her 6-year-old son, Gene David, due to the exhaustion.
In 2023, she also appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, calling out celebrities who were dishonest about their use of weight loss drugs. “Everyone has been lying, saying, ‘Oh, smaller portions.’ Like shut the f— up,” she said. “When I got lipo, I said I got lipo. Be real with the people.”
Recently, the Trainwreck actress shared that she’s found a new balance through medication. She said a combination of estrogen and progesterone for her perimenopause symptoms, along with Monjauro — a GLP-1 drug prescribed for type 2 diabetes and weight loss — has helped improve her health and energy levels.
“My symptoms of being in perimenopause have disappeared. My hair is fuller, my skin is better, I have more energy,” Schumer wrote on Instagram in March. “I’m having a really good experience, so I wanted to keep it real with you about that.”
