Atlanta rapper Young Thug has revealed that his 2019 project So Much Fun remains his favorite album from his catalog, calling it a defining moment in his career.
Speaking during a recent livestream with content creator Adin Ross, the rapper reflected on how the chart-topping record made him feel. “It was just the biggest album for me,” Thug said. “I just felt like I had achieved the world when that album dropped, and I didn’t feel that way about no other album. I felt like So Much Fun was just, like, so fucking fun.”
While Thug stands firmly by his choice, he admitted that not all of his friends agree. “21 [Savage] prefers Barter 6 and Jeffery,” he said, laughing about their ongoing debate.
When asked about his favorite track across his entire body of work, Thug named “Family Don’t Matter,” from his 2017 mixtape Beautiful Thugger Girls. The country-inspired song, featuring British singer Millie Go Lightly, was praised for pushing creative boundaries and blending Atlanta trap with unexpected sounds.
Released in August 2019, So Much Fun marked a major breakthrough for the rapper. Executive produced by J. Cole, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and included collaborations with top names like Future, Gunna, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, and Machine Gun Kelly. Its standout single, “Hot” featuring Gunna — later remixed with Travis Scott — became one of Thug’s biggest career hits.
Beyond its commercial success, the rapper said the project carried deep personal meaning. “That was the best time,” Thug said. “That was the time to be alive for sure.”
