President William Ruto has made several new appointments to the Foreign Service and other state offices, according to the latest issue of the Kenya Gazette dated October 2, 2025.
The appointments were made following approval by Parliament.
Former Labour Cabinet Secretary Florence Bore has been named Kenya’s Ambassador to Windhoek, Namibia. Bore was among Cabinet Secretaries dropped in the 2024 reshuffle that followed the Gen Z protests.
Other appointments include Anthony Mwaniki Muchiri as Ambassador to Ankara, Turkey; Henry Wambuma as High Commissioner to Bujumbura, Burundi; Abdirashid Salat Abdille as Ambassador to Jakarta, Indonesia; Joseph Musyoka Masila as Ambassador to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and Edwin Afande as Ambassador to Vienna, Austria.
Jayne Jepkorir has been appointed Consul General to Dubai, UAE, while Judy Kiaria Nkumiri will serve in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo.
Bore’s political career began in 2012 when she resigned from teaching to contest the Kericho County Woman Representative seat, though she was unsuccessful. She later served as Bomet County’s Director of Education in charge of Vocational Training until 2015. That same year, she was appointed to the board of the Geothermal Development Company (GDC), where she chaired the Human Resource Committee.
