Elon Musk’s estranged father, Errol Musk, is facing disturbing allegations of sexually abusing several of his children and stepchildren, according to a bombshell report by The New York Times.
The 79-year-old former politician has strongly denied the claims, calling them “nonsense” and accusing relatives of making them up to get money from his billionaire son.
The investigation cites police and court records, family correspondence, social worker notes, and interviews with relatives. The earliest allegation dates back to 1993, when Musk’s then–4-year-old stepdaughter Jana Bezuidenhout reportedly told family members that Errol had touched her inappropriately. A decade later, she allegedly claimed to have caught him sniffing her underwear in her bedroom.
Errol denied both claims, saying he was simply cleaning up her messy room.
Other relatives accused him of abusing two daughters and a stepson, but he has dismissed those accusations as “absurd.” He later became romantically involved with Jana in her late 20s, and the pair had two children together.
In 2022, their 5-year-old son allegedly told family members that Errol groped him, shouting “No, dad” during the incident. Relatives contacted police, but prosecutors dropped the case due to lack of evidence.
“There was no evidence because this is nonsense,” Errol told the Times, insisting the accusations were fabricated.
The report also revealed how the Musk family’s troubles have spilled over into Elon’s life. Some relatives have allegedly leaned on the Tesla CEO for financial support. In 2023, he was reportedly sending $1,700 a month to help his former stepsister.
Despite the serious accusations, Errol has never been convicted of any crime. He told the paper he only knew of one official allegation and offered explanations for two others.
The claims add another layer to the already strained relationship between Elon and his father, which has long been a source of public intrigue. Reps for Elon Musk have not commented on the report.
