The former Malibu home of American TV legend Johnny Carson has been put on the market with an asking price of $110 million (about Sh110 billion).
Carson, who hosted The Tonight Show for more than 30 years, bought the estate in the mid-1980s for $9.5 million. The property, located in the exclusive Point Dume area of Malibu, became his private retreat until his death in 2005.
The estate sits on more than four acres of land and overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Its main house, designed by architect Ed Niles, features dramatic glass-and-wood architecture, soaring ceilings, ocean-view terraces, and a private primary suite. The property also includes a saltwater pool, spa, sauna, championship tennis court, guesthouses, a greenhouse, gardens, and even a koi pond.
Over the years, the estate has changed hands several times. Carson’s widow sold it in 2007 for $46 million to billionaire Sidney Kimmel. It was later bought in 2019 for $40 million by venture capitalist Riaz Valani and his wife Augusta Tigrett, an heiress to the Hard Rock Café fortune. Now, just six years later, it is listed again at nearly three times that price.

Carson’s legacy extends beyond television and luxury property. After his death, it was revealed that he had secretly donated $156 million to the John W. Carson Foundation, supporting education, healthcare, environmental conservation, and community programs in Los Angeles and Nebraska.
The Malibu home, now one of the most expensive celebrity properties on the market, remains a strong reminder of Carson’s larger-than-life career and private lifestyle.
