Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham was left bloodied after a heavy collision during his competitive home debut against Union Berlin in the Bundesliga.
The 19-year-old England U21 international, who started the match at Signal Iduna Park, clashed heads with Serbian striker Andrej Ilic less than 20 minutes into the game. Both players went down, with blood streaming from their faces, forcing play to stop for several minutes as medical teams rushed in.
After receiving treatment, Bellingham was able to continue, though he returned to the pitch with a plaster above his right eyebrow and a fresh shirt to replace the bloodstained one. Ilic also continued after treatment.
Despite the scare, Bellingham impressed fans with his fighting spirit, showing the same determination that has made his brother, Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, a global name.
The young midfielder played his part as Dortmund sealed a 3-0 victory, securing their first Bundesliga win of the 2025/26 season and easing pressure after their opening-day setback against St Pauli.
