For Snoop Dogg, fatherhood holds a special place in his heart, especially when it comes to his only daughter, Cori Broadus.
The rapper recently opened up about their unique bond and why it stands out among his family relationships.
“We have a very tight bond,” Snoop shared in an interview with Us Magazine. “She’s my only daughter. That in itself is special.”
Snoop also has three sons—Corde, 30, and Cordell, 27, with his wife Shante Broadus, and Julian, 26, from a previous relationship.
Cori, 25, echoed her father’s sentiments.
“It’s a beautiful relationship. I’m the princess. He had two boys and then me, his baby girl. It’s a different type of love. You have to be softer, more loving and caring, more sensitive and fragile.”
Their connection deepened further due to Cori’s lifelong health struggles.
Diagnosed with lupus at age six, she recalled how her condition shaped their relationship.
“I got sick at six with lupus, and I think seeing his baby girl go through that… You don’t know how to express how you feel. You just know that you’re sick and everybody else is okay. You feel like the outcast. That made us closer.”
The bond was tested again earlier this year when Cori suffered a stroke at 24.
“It’s hard for me to revisit that day,” Snoop admitted.
“Anyone who knows me knows my daughter is my kryptonite.”
The experience brought new clarity to their lives.
“It’s reminded us to live every day like it’s your last and to lead with love,” the rapper shared.
“It put things into perspective. It also reminded us that we need to take care of our health and listen to our bodies.”
With her health improving, Cori is now focused on her upcoming wedding to fiancé Wayne Duece, a journey featured in the E! special Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori & Wayne’s Story.
While wedding plans are still being finalized, Cori already knows her father-daughter dance with Snoop will be unforgettable.
“Me and my dad are so gangster,” she shared, “we will probably be crip walking or something.”
