The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has announced a new opportunity for students who scored D+ and above in their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) to apply for a variety of courses.
This latest round of applications, which opened on November 3, 2024, comes through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).
In the update, KUCCPS stated that individuals with KCSE grades of C, C-, and D+ are encouraged to apply. These additional slots follow an earlier round of applications conducted in July.
Courses Available for C and C- Students
Students who achieved a minimum mean grade of C can apply for diploma programs in fields such as Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Community Health, Community Oral Health, Health Counseling, Health Insurance Management, Health Promotion, Health Records and Information Technology, and Medical Engineering.
Other diploma courses available include Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Social Work, Kenya Registered Nursing (Mental Health and Psychiatry), Radiography and Imaging, Public Health, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, and Orthopedic Technology.
For students with a grade of C-, KMTC is offering certificates in Orthopedic Trauma Medicine, Health Records and Information Technology, Community Health Assistant, Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nursing, Medical Emergency Technician, Medical Engineering, Nutrition and Dietetics, Mortuary Science, and Public Health.
Opportunities for D+ Students
Students who scored a D+ can apply for a Certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics. This course is available at several KMTC campuses, including Chwele, Homa Bay, Kabarnet, Kapenguria, Karen in Nairobi, Kwale, Lodwar, Makueni (Mbuvo Satellite), Molo, Nyandarua, Rera, and Thika.
“Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) invites applications for placement in various programs offered at the Kenya Medical Training College,” KUCCPS announced.
How to Apply
To apply, eligible candidates should log into the KUCCPS student portal at students.kuccps.net or visit the KUCCPS website at www.kuccps.ac.ke. Applicants should then follow these steps:
- Click the “Login” tab and input your KCSE Index Number, KCSE year, and password (your Birth Certificate Number or KCPE Index Number).
- Once logged in, click on “KMTC Programs” to view the available courses and their requirements. Download the PDF document listing all programs for easy reference.
- After choosing your preferred courses, enter the program codes.
- Click on the “KMTC Application” tab, then “Apply Now,” and input the program codes in order of preference, from your top choice (No. 1) to your least preferred (No. 4).
- Submit your application and pay the non-refundable fee of Ksh1,500. Payment instructions will be provided on the portal.
The deadline for applications is November 10, 2024.
