The government of Israel has announced scholarship opportunities for Kenyan students interested in pursuing postgraduate studies focused on sustainable development and community empowerment.
In a notice issued on Saturday, March 14, the Embassy of Israel in Kenya said applications are open for a Master’s programme in African Sustainable Communities at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
According to the Israeli mission, the programme is designed to bring together students from around the world to examine the major challenges and opportunities facing African societies today.
The interdisciplinary course focuses on sustainable development, community empowerment, and social change across the continent.
“Applications are now open for the MA programme in African Sustainable Communities at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel,” the Israeli mission said in a statement.
It added that the programme explores key issues shaping African communities while giving students an opportunity to learn alongside participants from different parts of the world.
Students who are selected for the programme will spend their first year studying at the university in Israel before undertaking fieldwork or a community development project in Africa.
The course is particularly aimed at individuals interested in careers in development work, public policy, sustainability, and community leadership.
Successful applicants will also have access to scholarship opportunities, with both full and partial funding available for qualified candidates.
The Israeli mission has encouraged Kenyan universities, professionals, and institutions working in academia, development, sustainability, and public policy to share the opportunity with potential applicants.
The deadline for applications is set for May 1, 2026, giving interested Kenyan students several weeks to prepare and submit their documents.
Applicants can access more details about the programme and submit their applications through the official website of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
